Though this is a post from 2006, things do not appear to have changed.  Why in the world is there no Google Doodle for Cinco de Mayo? What is Google, a California-based company, thinking?  It is amazing how Google's honors the Japanese, Swiss and Irish and ignores the Mexicans.  I just don't understand it.

I tried to find out more information on why Google has taken this stance and I don't find any answers.  I even tried a Yahoo search (as opposed to the Google search I started with) and got similar results.  What gives?
