I'm not a big golf fan, but I certainly can appreciate this wall tribute to George Archer at Applebees in Gilroy, CA. Gilroy claims to be his home and they hosted his public memorial when he died in 2005. Though it is partially covered with "March of Dimes" shamrocks, see can see a plethora of memorabilia hailing their home town hero. My grandparents would have loved it.
Hanging on the George Archer dedication wall at Applebees in Gilroy, CA hangs this newspaper sports page from January 28, 1969. It highlights both one of Archer's big wins and the drafting of O.J. Simpson. I thought the connection was funny.
